Koriander * Cilantro WHB # 88

TextDie Gastgeberin der dieswöchigen Kräuterküche WHB # 88 ist Astrid von Paulchen Paulchens Foodblog aus Österreich.

This week´s hostess of weekend herb blogging is Astrid of Paulchen Paulchens Foodblogfrom Austria.

Guten Appetit!

Inspired by an new event here my musings are about strawberries and cilantro this week. Given my experience with cilantro and asparagus I decided to have two salads this time.
Ingredients:
6 twigs of cilantro
1 red bell pepper
1 yellow bell pepper
1 red pepper
1 clove of garlic
500 g strawberries
1 lime
500 g spinach
Preparation:
grill, unpeel, unseed and cut into small pieces the bell pepper, unseed and cut into small rings the pepper, press garlic. Put all in a bowl and mix with lime juice. Wash strawberries, strip off cilantro leaves and add to the salad. Mix again.
Second Salad:
Separate half of the salad in another bowl. Wash and strip spinach, just heat it shortly, cool it and add it to the salad. Mix again and let both salads rest for 3 hour in the fridge.
Enjoy!
Was meint ihr dazu?

Kalyn from Kalyn´s kitchen the mother of this event want us to spread interesting details about fruit, herbs or vegetables. As said this week I´m musing about cilantro and its different tastes. Some deem it genetical, which I cannot prove. To me it seems crucial how it is used and to what amount. So tell me your experience.

I am really intrigued!
I read your other post about the strawberries and cilantro - and the different taste the cilantro had when paired with asparagus.
I can see that I am going to have to do some taste testing!

I never would have though to put cilantro and strawberries together. It's an intriguing combination I'd like to try.

I must say that I do like the sound of your salad very fresh and tasty; I wonder why you cooked the spinach though. Very talented in doing it in German and English. I must find time to visit and see more thankyou.

I've been on vacation so I'm barely reading some of the entries from last week! What an interesting combination. I've never seen these two together, but I'm imagining it would be a nice pairing.
