Mirabellengelee

900 ml Fruchtsaft
350 g Zucker
1 Päckchen Dr. Oetker Gelfix
3-4 Zweige Estragon
Zubereitung:
Yelly of mirabelle plums

900 ml fruit juice
350 g sugar
1 paket of yelly help (I took a German brand)
3-4 twigs of tarragon
Give juice, sugar and yelly help in a pot to cook firmly as recommended in the instruction. Add tarragon to give extra flavour. Remove tarragon before filling yelly into sterilized glasses. To close them firmly, let them rest for about 5 minutes upside down.
This is a delicacy rich in vitamins, flavour and colour for chilly winter days.
süß saure Möhrensuppe

1 Bund Möhren
10-20 Mirabellen
1 Zwiebel
5 Kartoffeln
2 l Gemüsebrühe
Zubereitung:

Weitere Informationen hier.

Kalyn the foundress of this weekly meeting wants to know more about fruit, vegetables or herbs.
Mirabelle plums or prunes are the tiniest pluns. Their content of vitamins isn´t exceptional, but the mix of vitamin C and all B vitamins makes them a fighter against stress. With their small amout of calium and high amount of pectin they spur kidneys and digestion.

I just found an old tree of mirabelles in the corner by my garden. Too late for this year, though. There were only a few left on the tree.
Your preserves look beautiful - I love the idea of tarragon with the fruit!

Unusual, I'd never have thought of a plum and carrot soup! I'll have to try this when my plums are ready

@ zorra,
perhaps yours are a lot sweeter than mine, but they will be marvellous anyway!
@ katiez,
think of them next year. You lill be reminded by the lovely blossoms in sprintime.
@ sophie,
carrots and plums are a great pair. When I combine carrots with ginger, my children refuse them sometimes, because they increase the sharpness.

Yummy I love plums but the carrots are a new pair for me to hear about too.

I've never had this type of plums, but I think the idea of adding plums to carrot soup is a great one!
