WHB#104 Two Years of yummy cooking

To celebrate the 2nd anniversary we are invited to Utah into Kalyn´s Kitchen by our hostess Kalyn. We stroll in having two delicous things with us a vegetable and a herb.
Weiterhin alles Gute Kalyn´s Kitchen.

To congratulate Kalyn´s Kitchen I bring avocado and dill around. But they don´t suffice alone, so I produce fingerfood with them.

Ingredients:
1 filo paste
1 avocado
1 bunch of dill
1 mozarella
salt, pepper
1 egg
Preparation:
Unroll filo paste and produce 6 little round tartes. Sprinkle with egg. Use the remining filo to form rims. Leave enough for the decoration. Halve the avocado after peeling, cut into slices and put into the tartes. Sprinkle with egg, give dill onto. Cut mozarella into slices and give one on each tarte. Add salt and pepper and dill on the top. Now form Twos with the remaining dough and put them on top. Bake in the oven as recommended (15 minutes, 175°). Enjoy hot or cold!!

Another avocado recipe can be found with more informations about the vegetable included.
Kalyn wants us to bring with us interesting information about vegetables or herbs. So I enlarge your knowledge on dill, at least I hope I do.
Dill derives from Anglo Saxon dylle which means soothing and this refers to its effect to relieve gas. If you love swallowtails, this is what their broods eat.
Even the Egypts and Romans knew this herb and in the Bible we read that Jesus is angry with the Pharisees because they wanted to tithe Dill and other herbs. The German Saint Hildegard liked dill because of its effect to cool sensual appetite.
Dill is widely known in Europe where it first appeared at the time of Charles the Great. Today it is familiar in North, East and Central Europe, but the roman countries seems to know it less. Hungary is the world´s greatest producer of dill oil used in medicine.
Dill is known to reduce nervousness and can be given to avoid illness, it can be given against stomach ache and other illnesses.
And not yet a year ago I entered Kalyn´s Kitchen for the first time.
Congratulations Kalyn´s Kitchen.
